Hair Grass (Eleocharis Acicularis)
Hair Grass (Eleocharis Acicularis)
Eleocharis Acicularis, commonly known as Hairgrass, is an ideal carpeting plant for aquariums. With sufficient light, this plant will spread quickly, creating a lush carpet within weeks by sending out runners. It can also thrive in low-tech setups, though it will grow at a slower pace.
For best results, plant Hairgrass in small clumps into the substrate. The blades can grow up to 15 cm in length. If it becomes dense or overgrown, trimming it down to 2-3 cm will encourage fresh growth. It also looks stunning when planted between rocks or among other foreground plants like Hemianthus Callitrichoides or Sagittaria.
Care Guidelines:
- Light Requirements: Moderate to High
- Growth Rate: Medium to Fast
- Difficulty Level: Easy
- Ideal Placement: Foreground
Note: Plants may arrive looking slightly different from the photos as they are grown emersed (out of water). Rest assured, after a short time in the aquarium, they will convert and begin to flourish.
